DetailsA sparkly blue oval cut sapphire spreads its silver wings in this striking necklace. Handmade entirely by me in my Connecticut studio. The sapphire is approximately 7mm by 5mm. It has character (a.k.a. flaws and inclusions) but no cracks. The sapphire is a natural, earth-mined sapphire, not lab-made. It has been heated, but no other treatments were used. Lobster clasp. A perfect "something blue" for a bride or a lovely statement for everyday wear.
Handmade in argentium sterling silver, a high-silver content form of sterling (94% pure silver, as opposed to 92.5% silver in regular sterling silver). Argentium resists tarnish and finishes hard, making it an excellent budget-friendly substitute for white gold or platinum. It is hypoallergenic and contains no nickel.
